The Salute 2013 figure

Painted by Kevin Dallimore
For many years, we have produced a limited edition white metal figure, sculpted by some of the bigger and better known names in the industry - Adam Clarke, Alan Perry and Jacques-Alexandre Gillois (JaG), to name but the latest few. This year, we have decided to try something different.

No, we're still giving out a free figure.

No, we're still using an industry 'name'.

This time, we're giving away what we believe is the first limited edition plastic figure produced by a wargames club.

In keeping with the theme of 'Jason and the Argonauts', Steve May has sculpted this multi-part kit for us, and Renedra Ltd have moulded and bagged thousands of the sprues. You can build Jason with either a shield or a hydra's head in his left hand, and it comes with its own scenic base.

Also painted by Kevin Dallimore

I have to apologise for the next picture - the white balance on my camera has gone 'up the swanee', but I thought you'd like to see the sprue before Kevin got his hands on it...

Salute 2012 figure - painted

The first pictures of the painted Salute 2012 figure have come back from club member Kevin Dallimore...

As I said, a really beautiful painted figure, and I can't wait to see more of them.

More pictures, including a few 'in the process' ones, at this site maintained by Kevin and his mates.

The 2012 Salute figure

Merry Christmas! And as a present from Salute, here is the first picture of the 2012 Salute figure.

It has been sculpted by the very talented Jacques-Alexandre Gillois of Miniature Studio, and it's themed on the end of the 13th B'ak'tun of the Mayan Long Count Calendar.

And you know what - I am really excited about seeing a few painted examples in 2012 - I think this is going to be a real painters' dream!
