SLW Hammers Slammers game at Sheffield 2011

A small (but perfectly formed) team of Warlords took the Hammers Slammers game to Sheffield last weekend, picking up an award while they were there. Special mentions for John Treadaway (rules) and Roger Dixon (much of the scenery), but all models and scenery by the South London Warlords.

There were two separate games on the two days using completely different 15mm forces and 80% different scenery for both days (the custom made cloth remained the same).

Taban Miniatures at the club

On Monday night, Franck Brusset, the international sales representative for Taban Miniatures, came down the club to give us some demos of skirmish game, Eden.

Unfortunately people were playing rather than taking pictures, so there's not a lot to show; however, let us just say 'thank you very much' to Franck for taking the time to visit us, and we hope to see him at Salute again next year.

Reminder for members - AGM 2011

The AGM will be held on Monday 27th June 2011.

The closing date for Constitutional Proposals to be with the Secretary is 5 weeks before this date; i.e. next Monday 23rd May.

AGM packs will go out to members 3 weeks before the meeting.

Think about standing for a position on committee, its quite a nice feeling to give something back to the club that gives you so much.

40k tournament round 2

Attached is the scenario for this round. Please read this carefully, taking note of the primary and secondary objectives. I won’t be my fault if you forget the objectives and lose. Also don’t forget to take a note of the kill Points both sides score during the game. While these will not be used to determine the winner (in this scenario) they will be used to break ties on the tournament table.

The deadline for your results will be Monday 20th June. Again this is five weeks rather than four due to the bank holiday. If your unable to play your game please let me know ASAP or you could end up scoring zero for the round.
